“I first started painting while on tour with PJ Harvey in 2016, and I’ve carried it on ever since, forming a weird sort of pictorial diary. These paintings all come from the recent world tour.
I carried a painting kit with me wherever we went, and set up in my hotel room every day to paint. Often after the gigs or first thing in the morning, just whatever came to my mind. Sometimes inspired by where we’d been, but more often just escaping off into the imagination.”
