William Blanchard also known as Wildcat Will is a dynamic artist who merges Pop Art with collage, creating vibrant and surreal works. Initially, he pursued a career in rock ’n’ roll, drumming for bands such as Jamiroquai, Shakespeare’s Sister, Beth Orton, and Death in Vegas for nearly two decades. His artistic journey took a turn after he was introduced to graffiti and street art and collaborated with Ben Eine, which inspired him to explore using the street as his canvas. Will transitioned to creating collage works, producing a unique blend of Pop Art and Surrealism. His non-conformist approach is evident in his surreal assemblages and references to pop culture from the 60s to the present day. His works are known for their bright, colourful compositions, often enhanced with diamond dust and psychedelic elements. Will’s art has garnered significant attention and commissions, including work for Cambridge Audio. His Warhol-inspired diamond-dusted print ‘Human Beinz’ became particularly popular with art buyers. He has exhibited extensively, participating in the Art Car Boot Fair, group shows, and solo exhibitions. His 2015 solo show ‘Love Is Like A Butterfly’ with West Contemporary Editions (formerly Beautiful Crime Gallery) was a major success, establishing his reputation in the art world and gaining significant recognition in the British press.
