Textile artist & printmaker

Inspired and encouraged by her Croatian Grandmother not play with matches but embroider and make stuff, this lead to a love of immersing herself in a world of art.

Went to the Art side studying graphics and illustration, being Dyslexic she only used bulldog printing kits for all typography, despite this she won the Macmilan children’s book prize for Illustration. Loved spending her time skiving in the printing studio – can’t beat the smell of Sericol and roll ups in the morning.

Also painted murals (public and private commissions) in London, the largest of which can still be seen on The Cut behind Waterloo station: a colourful 50ft tall Carmen Miranda.

Nicole has also exhibited with, and is a member of PEG – The Profanity Embroidery Group and The Society of Embroidered Work.

She has a rubbish right eye and uses jewellers glasses to create her stunningly detailed, hand embroidered work. Using a mix of of threads, pure silk, satins, metallics( known as the devil’s pubes) and threads from her collection of discontinued and vintage threads that she has amassed over the years.
